Cáirde Nua and Sonas would like to say a huge thank you to Smith’s Supervalu in Johnstown for their donations to our school tuck shop!
Thanks to their generosity, our tuck shop is fully stocked and all the money raised supports resources for our Cáirde Nua and Sonas classes! We’re so thankful and lucky to have such supportive neighbours in our community!

March was a busy and exciting month!

We learned about Shrove Tuesday and Pancake Tuesday. We learned how pancakes are made. Then we got to add our own toppings. It was great fun and the pancakes were delicious!

We dressed up for World Book Day and shared our favourite stories. We also celebrated Lá Glas for St. Patrick’s Day. We wore lots of green and had great fun celebrating together!

We've been learning all about food. We did a fruit taste test and tried lots of different fruit! We talked about all the different colours and tastes! It was lots of fun (and tasty too!)

Our mobile shop was a big success today!  A huge well done to Mrs Flood’s 5th class for demonstrating excellent business skills and for using Lámh signs while working with Cairde Nua and Sonas.

We got into the Christmas spirit by decorating the tree, creating lovely Christmas art, and listening to Christmas music together. ? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our class!!

We were learning about the people who help us in our community, we explored what chefs do—and then became chefs for the day by making our own pizzas! It was lots of fun and tasty too!!!

In October, we celebrated birthdays and Halloween! We dressed up in Halloween costumes, played, and had fun trick-or-treating to the other Cáirde Nua classes!

Autumn has been bursting with color and excitement here in our class! Our students have been jumping into leaf piles, decorating pumpkins, exploring nature, and getting creative with all things autumn!

Our classrooms sparkled this week as we learned all about Diwali — the Festival of Lights! Students explored beautiful candles, admired traditional clay oil lamps called diyas, and watched sparklers shine bright. It was a joyful celebration of light, color, and learning together.

What a wonderful start to the year!!!
